Welcome to Joes Blog
Before starting this project I had no idea how to approach a personal narrative seeing as in high school we just had to analyze text most of the time. But after 3 drafts and a lot of brainstorming I feel very confident in my ability to write a well thought out and thorough personal narrative. I received a very low grade initially, but then I went to the RWC and they helped me greatly. They fixed my wordy sentences and helped add more specifc details. Wow this was a stressful project. I had to change my topic not once not twice but THREE times. The first rough draft i wrote wasn't even the same topic my final version came to be. The paper was the definition of revising and editing. I wrote a full 2000 words and had to start from scratch basically. I thought i was going to end up getting a terrible grade on this because Mat told me my original version was completely wrong. However Mat sat down with me and helped may down a plan to follow and it worked like a charm. I got in the zone and wrote 2000 words in one day and somehow received a 98 after having to restart 3 times. Yet i learned a lot during this project. I learned how to properly research using FSU's vast online library, how to cite correctly, how to use ref works, how to always use MLA format. This being my first ever research paper was truly an experience but thanks to Mat's help i learned how to properly do a reasearch paper. Project 3 was the easiest of all 3 projects by far. I jut created 3 genres that i felt related to student government. It helped show me a genre can literally be ANYTHING.
